Conscious shopping has never been more relevant. In these uncertain times knowing that your purchase gives back can be both empowering and uplifting. Taking the lead with kindness and responding with solidarity, we have donated more than 18,000 reusable face masks and its effects are having a positively rippling effect throughout the local community.
As part of our wider aspirational drive to be a responsible business, for every pack of three Lavender Hill Clothing fabric face masks purchased, we are donating another pack to theKatherine Low Settlement in Batterseaand the charities it supports.
With the aim of helping those hardest hit by Covid-19, our 100% cotton face coverings are more than just a stylish but much needed accessory. Through a network of charities supported by the Katherine Low Settlement, we have been able to supply reusable face masks to the most vulnerable, enabling them to protect themselves and others as they go about daily life.
Originally founded in 1924, Katherine Low Settlement is a charity running activities and events that support women, the young, elderly, and refugees. Home to 32 charities and community groups, Katherine Low Settlement is able to provide vital services 7 days a week to the diverse needs of the local communities of Wandsworth.
One of the charities to have benefited from our donations has been CARAS, an outreach organisation based in Tooting supporting people of refugee and asylum-seeking background who live in South-West London. Perhaps a happy coincidence, the word ‘cara’ in Spanish means ‘face’. So, providing a 18 000 masks to individuals facing real adversity and hardship is heartwarming.
